Universities and colleges are legally responsible for ensuring they’re meeting the needs of all their students equally.

The information you enter in this section will be used to help understand the experiences of groups of people with different characteristics, usually referred to as protected characteristics.

It will only be shared with the universities and colleges after you’ve secured a place, or at the end of the application cycle.

The information you give in this section will:

  • be used by UCAS, universities, colleges, and selected public bodies for equality monitoring purposes
  • only be seen by whoever processes the data in line with the Data Protection Act 1998 at these institutions

The information you give in this section will not:

  • be sent to universities and colleges with your application
  • be used to make decisions about whether you should be offered a place on a course
  • lead to further contact from UCAS, universities, colleges, or any other public body

If you are under 21, please give the job title of your parent, step-parent or guardian who earns the most. If she or he is retired or unemployed, give their most recent job title. If you are 21 or over, please give your own job title.
