Titles, headers and headlines

Titles and headers need to summarise the key points of your copy. They are vital in helping the reader to skim over the page and assess the content.

We do not use a full stop after a header or title.

For example:

  1. Track your progress
  2. Register to use Apply (Apply has a capital A as it is a proper noun)
  3. Managing applications to UK higher education courses
  4. News items for students

Written as above they are much easier to read than like this:

  1. Track your Progress
  2. Register to Use Apply (Apply has a capital A as it is a proper noun)
  3. Managing Applications to UK Higher Education Courses
  4. News Items for Students

Names of UCAS publications and events use capitals.

  1. Admissions Guide
  2. UCAS Admissions Conference
  3. Annual Conference for Teachers and Advisers
